LAS VEGAS 1998

• An entrance to the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas, Nev., 1998
• The view from my hotel window---desert and mountains in the background, and construction that could only take place at night due to the day's awful heat
• The MGM lion in front of the MGM Grand, an Egyptian lion inside the Luxor hotel mall,an animatronic lion at the safari-themed restaurant in the hotel mall
• Like many of the hotel/casinos these days. MGM now has its own small amusement park. Las Vegas as a family resort--- what's wrong with this picture?

• The LONG view of the seemingly endless ocean liner Queen Mary.
• Disneyland: Pretend maintenance men perform a "stomp" dance; Toontown and some other facade
• Very elegant southern-style facade of the very large attraction, complete with "pet cemetery"
• Too many balloons threaten to carry the seller and her cart away.
