The following are a sample of my extensive collection of photographs from the last few Dark Shadows Festivals.

DS FESTIVAL, 1997-99

  • My First ever Festival picture, and you can see it would be a while before I mastered the art of stage crawling a'la paparazzi. John Karlen, Lara Parker, Kathryn Leigh Scott, NYC 1997.
  • John, Kathryn, Lara, and Louis Edmonds in 1997. (I was ON the stage then, but darn! No zoom lens!)
  • Marie Wallace at the 1997 banquet with a couple of boon companions in dark and evil bustierres
  • Chris Pennock, aka the Happiest Fellah, and Terrayne Crawford, the Serene, signing away at one of the grueling 1997 autograph sessions
  • Ghosts at the Marriot Marquis? Or a vision from my tired eyes after the 1997 banquet, somehow tranferred to film? No, just a weird and welcome merge of the hallway, John Karlen and Roger Davis with some unidentified fan onstage.
  • The only decent close-up photo I got of a DS star in Las Vegas 1998--- and Denise Nickerson was SANDWICHED between two fans
  • I keep telling people I believe Paul Michael and Marion Ross got hitched in Vegas that weekend, and here's a picture of them in their "Sunday best" even though it wasn't Sunday, which look suspiciously like wedding clothes (Las Vegas style!)
  • Lara Parker in 1997, managing to smile at fans in spite of exhaustion
  • A "panoramic" view of all the DS "originals" at the 1999 Festival
  • Jim Pierson, Abe Vigoda, and Abe's daughter
  • Is that a dirty halo over Jim Pierson's head? (And dig that "way past 5 PM" shadow!)
  • Pensive-looking Ed Lambese with Chris Pennock, NYC, 1999
  • The late Louis Edmonds at the NYC 1999 Festival, in the dress uniform blazer from his Navy days 50 years ago!
  • A skit at the 1999 Festival, featuring Lara Parker's daughter Kaitlyn, in dark wig, as Sarah Collins, telling Big Bad Bro Barnabas to "Clean up your act!"
  • Kathryn Leigh Scott with a display of her Pompress wares
  • John Karlen and m'self, taken by Roger Davis--- Is this the "morning after" or "the night before the morning after"?
  • A couple of kids, their faces concealed to hide their identities, were dressed up by their mom in home-made outfits to resemble the two incarnations of Angelique--- 1795 and 1968.
  • This compostion shot was such a favorite of the young lady, owner of a huge David Selby website, that when I gave her a copy, she had David Selby autograph it, and she had it framed.
  • Lara Parker at the banquet, Kathryn selling her books, and Donna Wandrey laboriously making her "Roxanne--Wandrey" crossword autographs in 1999.

    • DS FESTIVAL, 2000-2002

  • Nancy Barrett, aka "Carolyn" and former onscreen DS flame Mitch Ryan, aka "The REAL Burke"
  • The late Dennis Patrick, receiving a helpful cue from Marie Wallace
  • As far as I know, the last-ever picture of the late, great Dave Brown at the 2000 Festival. I cut it out of a group picture, and did it over in greyscale--- brought out the detail.
  • We toast the memory of Jenn's Dad, Dave Brown, at the first banquet after his passing.
  • Bob, Sheenasma, MsCriseyde, etc. Why, oh WHY didn't I have them pose in front of the WTC Marriott's immense indoor fountain, now forever lost?
  • The notorious Jim Pierson blackmail picture. We look WAY too happy, don't we? Though I KNOW we both really wanted to dance with the PLANT!
  • Demonstrating my ability to capture a priceless moment in record time
  • At John Karlen's Banquet table, WTC Marriott, Aug. 2001
  • Bobubas joins John for some dinnertime play
  • Featuring Marie Wallace, Chris and Lynn Pennock, and Kathryn
  • Me in my devilish duds--- And giving camera instructions while Kathryn smiles bravely on!
  • My best shot of the life-sized 1969 painting of the late Louis Edmonds as "The Commodore." Can you make out the blue in his eyes?
  • John and Kathryn's smashing performance at the 2002 festival
  • The exciting conclusion to the play
  • How I spent my 45th birthday this year! Screaming all the way, with EYES WIDE SHUT!!!
  • Like, what MORE do we REALLY need?
  • A banquet 2002 vignette
  • "Pulling Bob's Leg" takes on a whole new meaning
  • Stars of the best Festival skit, posed in front of a wedding arrangement set up for one of two couples who got hitched the same night
  • Robert Rodan and David Selby demonstrate the downside of being very tall and lanky
  • Yes, it's HARD to sit on those little seats when you're that tall. Not that David's fans minded his squirming, all that much!
  • The very small cast reunion,cluding David Henesy's Mom Jeane Avery
  • Roger Davis, Marie, Chris Pennock
  • The late, great Dennis Patrick, reminiscing about the weird, wacky days when he appeared in the film "JOE"
  • Canoodling with the ever-hunky Bobubas and Mr. Eight-and-One-Half (I think he named himself after the movie)
  • Me and the ever-present Commander Supreme of Festival security, looking like we're ready to paint the town red (but after a long weary weekend, more likely to collapse and sleep like the dead!
